idol Weekly 10 - 3/21/2024

Hey everyone. Today, I would like to dive deep into our new, revamped "expense coverage." idol was the first VTuber agency to push for expense coverage for talents because we believed that VTuber agencies should invest more resources in their talents, as this will be mutually beneficial and will help them grow and create better content. Since then, we have been updating and reshaping the way we reinvest in talents to encourage better and more diverse content, as well as large-scale projects.

Today, we will explore our new Expense Coverage System we introduced this year to talents. This new approach helps talents focus on content instead of worrying about expenses, and promotes more group projects and creative thinking.

Company Credit Cards

All of our talents are issued official company credit cards assigned to them, to be used easily and efficiently when purchasing things like video games, equipment, and other things they might need for streaming. This helps talents make quick purchases without having to talk to their managers, making the whole process more efficient and quick.

Quarterly Budget

In order to make things fairer, promote reinvestment in smaller talents, and encourage large-scale projects by talents, we have introduced a quarterly budget for talents. Quarterly budgets are calculated every quarter based on the last quarter's performance.

This budget is $1500 or 20% of the quarter's revenue, whichever is higher. This guarantees even smaller talents get a significant budget to undertake large-scale projects while still reinvesting a significant portion of earnings back into talents.

Generation Budget

Moving into 2024, we will be putting a lot more focus on group projects and teamwork. With that, we decided to introduce a generation budget that each generation is provided with in order to encourage large group projects throughout the year.

The generation budget is given each quarter and is equal to $1500 multiplied by the number of talents in a generation. This budget is given on top of the normal quarterly budget for individual projects, and each generation decides how to use this budget each quarter.

Donothon Coverage

Donothons have been a great opportunity for talents to raise money for large-scale projects. We decided to integrate that as part of our expense coverage by covering all project expenses for the different goals, so that talents can take home the earnings they made from the donothon without having to worry about paying for all the goals they promised to do.

As a result, we don't profit at all from Donothons because the goals reflect the cost of projects based on the amount raised.

Other Budget

As part of a secret project, talents are also issued an additional budget that is more significant than the budgets listed before. I hope to revisit this post in the future to provide more context on that, once this project is announced.

To summarize, we have been working behind the scenes to increase our reinvestment in talents and offer a clearer expense coverage system for talents. This is part of a series of internal changes we've been making to further benefit talents in our mission to prioritize talent happiness and well-being.
